500米口径球面射电望远镜(FAST)

摘要:
500米口径球面射电望远镜(FAST)已完成建设,调试与试运行以来发现超过80颗新的脉冲星,将于2019年9月完成国家验收。作为世界最大和最灵敏的单口径射电望远镜,FAST为众多科学发现提供了前所未有的机遇。在国家重大需求方面,FAST具有重要应用价值。将把我国空间测控能力由地球同步轨道延伸至太阳系外缘。脉冲星到达时间测量精度提高至30纳秒,成为国际上最精确的脉冲星计时阵,为自主导航这一前瞻性研究制作脉冲星钟。进行高分辨率微波巡视,识别微弱的空间讯号,为国家安全服务。作为非相干散射雷达接收系统,提供高分辨率和高效率的地面观测;跟踪探测日冕物质抛射事件,服务于太空天气预报。

Abstract:
The main structure of Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope (FAST) has been completed. Till now, more than 80 new pulsars have been detected by FAST during the commissioning and test observation stage. The national acceptance will be held in September 2019. Being the largest and most sensitive single-dish radio telescope FAST will enable scientist to jump-start many science cases. Meanwhile, FAST have several application goals. FAST will improve the ability of space measurement and control from the earth geosynchronous orbit to the edge of the Solar System. Moreover, FAST will increase the measurement accuracy of the time of arrival for the pulsar to 30 ns and develop the most accurate pulsar timing array, which will be used as pulsar clock and work for autonomous navigation. By carrying out microware survey to detect weak space signals, FAST might work for national security. FAST could be the receiving system of Incoherent scattering radar and provide the ground-based observation with high resolution and efficiency, such as tracking the events of Coronal Mass Ejection and serve for the space weather forecast.
